Bl. William Greenwood, Roman Catholic Monk and English Martyr, Carthusian martyr of England. A lay brother in the Carthusian London Charterhouse, he was arrested for opposing the policies of King Henry VIII (r. 1509-1547) and starved to death in Newgate Prison with six companions. June 16
